The School invites applications for an academic position in the Department of Computer Science. The Department is renowned internationally for excellent research in the areas of Algorithms and Artificial Intelligence. Within these two areas the Department has seven, more specialised, research groups on topics directly related to or spanning Algorithms and Artificial Intelligence. For this post, we are seeking a candidate to contribute to the Department's research on Artificial Intelligence and specifically, topics related to those of the AI section's research groups:

o Argumentation and Knowledge Representation
o Data Mining and Machine Learning
o Robotics and Autonomous Systems
o Verification

We seek an excellent researcher and highly professional individual who will be expected to contribute in a variety of ways to the research areas mentioned above. Consequently, we expect from the candidate: an excellent track record of (or high potential for) production of quality research outputs in the area of their expertise; a strong interest in and evidence of (or high potential for) securing research funding; ability to contribute to teaching provided by the Department. Of particular interest are candidates who can contribute to strengthening the impact of the Department's research. The Department is involved in a number of collaborations within and outside the University and as such is also keen to strengthen its base in interdisciplinary research. The School of Electrical Engineering, Electronics and Computer Science is an Athena SWAN Bronze Award holder. We are working to create an inclusive environment which values a diverse workforce and we strongly encourage applications from groups under-represented within our workforce, in particular, women.
