Most likely the problem is that you are running a sequential  dftb in a MPI parallel mode. This causes MPI launcher start multiple instances of DFTB to  write to same xyz file. You should run it without MPI, and if you need patallelization then check openMP multithreading.

When I run an MD calculation with Silicon atom, the xyx file that is output is not arranged sequentially. The data for the timesteps are dumped multiple times and randomly, not in order and a different set of data dumped for a particular timestep have different values. Could you please suggest solutions to the problem?
