[DFTB-Plus-User] DFTB+ installation

Hi everyone,
I am new to DFTB+ and followed the instructions as posted below
https://github.com/dftbplus/dftbplus/blob/master/INSTALL.rst
The _install folder contains he dftb+ file. However, when I issue
dftb+ | tee outputthe output file is blank. Issuing dftb+ at prompt, shows 
dftb: command not found.
